The circadian clock ticks in plant stress responses

چکیده

Abstract The circadian clock, a time-keeping mechanism, drives nearly 24-h self-sustaining rhythms at the physiological, cellular, and molecular levels, keeping them synchronized with cyclic changes of environmental signals. plant clock is sensitive to external internal stress signals that act as timing cues influence through input pathways system. In order cope stresses, many core oscillators are involved in defense while maintaining daily growth various ways. Recent studies have shown hierarchical multi-oscillator network orchestrates rhythmic accumulation gene transcripts, alternative splicing mRNA precursors, modification turnover proteins, subcellular localization, stimuli-induced phase separation, long-distance transport proteins. This review summarizes essential role response stresses Arabidopsis thaliana crops, including seasonal abiotic (low or high temperature, drought, salinity, nutrition deficiency) biotic (pathogens herbivorous insects). By integrating mechanisms, resistance, we provide temporal perspective for scientists better understand adaptation breed high-quality crop germplasm agricultural production.

Input signals to the plant circadian clock.

Eukaryotes and some prokaryotes have adapted to the 24 h day/night cycle by evolving circadian clocks, which now control very many aspects of metabolism, physiology and behaviour. Circadian clocks in plants are entrained by light and temperature signals from the environment. The relative timing of internal and external events depends upon a complex interplay of interacting rhythmic controls and...

Stochastic properties of the plant circadian clock.

Circadian clocks are gene regulatory networks whose role is to help the organisms to cope with variations in environmental conditions such as the day/night cycle. In this work, we explored the effects of molecular noise in single cells on the behaviour of the circadian clock in the plant model species Arabidopsis thaliana. The computational modelling language Bio-PEPA enabled us to give a stoch...

The Importance of the Circadian Clock in Regulating Plant Metabolism

Carbohydrates are the primary energy source for plant development. Plants synthesize sucrose in source organs and transport them to sink organs during plant growth. This metabolism is sensitive to environmental changes in light quantity, quality, and photoperiod. In the daytime, the synthesis of sucrose and starch accumulates, and starch is degraded at nighttime. The circadian clock genes provi...

Beyond Arabidopsis: the circadian clock in non-model plant species.

Circadian clocks allow plants to temporally coordinate many aspects of their biology with the diurnal cycle derived from the rotation of Earth on its axis. Although there is a rich history of the study of clocks in many plant species, in recent years much progress in elucidating the architecture and function of the plant clock has emerged from studies of the model plant, Arabidopsis thaliana. T...

Perinatal Programming of Circadian Clock-Stress Crosstalk

An intact communication between circadian clocks and the stress system is important for maintaining physiological homeostasis under resting conditions and in response to external stimuli. There is accumulating evidence for a reciprocal interaction between both-from the systemic to the molecular level. Disruption of this interaction by external factors such as shiftwork, jetlag, or chronic stres...
